  • About clairsonic sonic cleansing brushes/general

What is the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

The Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush is the number one cleansing brush recommended by dermatologists. Using our patented sonic oscillatory technology, Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brushes cleanse six times better than your hands alone. A Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush is your first step toward Sonic Skin Transformation, and guarantees cleaner, smoother, younger-looking skin.

    What is Sonic Skin Cleansing?

Sonic Skin Cleansing is transformational. Powered by our patented sonic oscillation technology, Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brushes are the first step in Sonic Skin Transformation. Unique micro-massage motions work with the skin's natural elasticity, oscillating at more than 300 movements per second to gently massage away impurities trapped within pores.

Why is Sonic Skin Cleansing unique?

Sonic Skin Cleansing is a breakthrough in the way you cleanse your face and the first step in sonic skin transformation. Unlike traditional cleansing methods and other cleansing brushes on the market, which rotate or vibrate, Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brushes move back and forth with skin's natural elasticity to get rid of more dirt, oil and makeup—cleansing six times better than your hands alone. And when skin is free of impurities, it not only feels softer, it looks healthier and more radiant too.

What are the benefits of Clarisonic's patented sonic cleansing technology?

    • Cleanses skin six times better than your hands alone.
    • Removes impurities from skin and pores so creams, serums and moisturizers are absorbed better.
    • Gentle enough for twice daily use even on skin affected by conditions like rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis.*

*If you are under a doctor's care for any skin condition, please consult your physician before using a Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush.

What are the benefits of the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

The gentle micro-massage movement feels subtle but soothing as the brush is moved around the face. The brush head should never feel scratchy or irritating. If there is any discomfort, ensure both your face and the brush head are thoroughly damp and/or try using more cleanser. Do not apply excessive pressure when using, but rather, allow the weight of the brush to do the work for you.

What does sonic cleansing feel like?

    • Waterproof for use in the shower or bathtub
    • Rechargeable
    • Intuitive and customizable features for unique personalization
*If you are under a doctor's care for any skin condition, please consult your physician before using a Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush.
  • Using your clarisonic cleansing brush/speeds

Why do some Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brushes offer different speeds?

The different speeds are designed to allow for different sensorial preferences and personal customization. We recommend that new users begin on the lower speed and gradually increase to higher speeds.

What speed should I use with my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

If you have a Clarisonic model that offers multiple speeds (Clarisonic Mia 2, Clarisonic Aria, Clarisonic PLUS, or Clarisonic PRO), we recommend starting on the lowest speed and working your way up to the speed you enjoy most.

What exactly am I changing when I adjust the speed of my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

Changing the speed is an adjustment of how far to the left and right the brush head oscillates. The speed does not change the number of movements per second, therefore each speed still offers deep cleansing.

  • Using your clarisonic sonic cleansing brush/skin concerns

I’ve heard some people experience blemishes or breakouts when first using a Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush. Why does this happen?

A very small percentage of people may experience some blemishes after using a Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush during the first week. This is because the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush is deeply cleansing and flushing the impurities out of your skin, which sometimes results in a brief breakout. This process may seem similar to the "purging" process often experienced with professional facials, where impurities trapped deep in the skin are brought to the surface.

Can I use my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush if I have a sunburn?

If you have a severe sunburn or have open wounds or lesions, we do not recommend using your Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush. Always consult your skincare professional.

How should I care for my skin after using my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush to ensure my skin doesn’t get too dry?

Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brushes are not harsh or irritating, and have been proven in clinical studies to be safe and gentle for daily use without disruption to the skin barrier. Therefore, there is no need for any additional moisturizing procedures when using the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush. If your skin feels dry after using your Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush, we recommend using a more mild cleanser that may be gentler on your skin.

  • Caring for your Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush

How do I clean my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

Once a week, wash the brush head and the handle separately using warm water and mild anti-bacterial soap. The handle is sealed and fully waterproof. Never attempt to open the brush handle for any reason. To dry the brush after use, rub the brush head against a towel for 5–10 seconds while it is powered on, or simply replace the brush head cap and let it air dry between uses. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals to clean any part of the handle or brush head. Do not put any part of the handle in a dishwasher.

Unplug the charging cradle before you clean it. After unplugging the cradle, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the cradle in water.

How often should I charge my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

When used at the normal speed, the Clarisonic Mia and Clarisonic Mia 2 models have an average battery life of 24 uses. Clarisonic Aria, Clarisonic PLUS, and Clarisonic PRO have a battery life of about 28 uses when used at the normal speed. All of our cleansing brushes feature low-battery warnings. See your User Guide for more information.

How often should I replace the brush head on my Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush?

To maintain proper and effective cleansing, we recommend replacing your brush head every three months.

  • About clarisonic mia

Which brush heads work with the Clarisonic Mia?

The Clarisonic Mia works with all facial brush heads. The Body Brush Head is only compatible with the Clarisonic PRO and Clarisonic PLUS.

Does the Clarisonic Mia have a T-Timer?

No, but the Clarisonic Mia will automatically shut off after one minute.

What is the difference between the Clarisonic Mia and the other, larger models?

The Clarisonic Mia has one button, one speed, no T-Timer, and is not compatible with the Body Brush Head. The Clarisonic Mia is also significantly smaller and lighter than the larger handles. The Clarisonic Mia charger is not a cradle but a magnetic pLink charger that attaches to the base of the device.

The Clarisonic PRO has four speeds and a programmable T-Timer. The Clarisonic PLUS and Clarisonic Aria models have three speeds and a programmable T-Timer. The Clarisonic PLUS and Clarisonic PRO models are compatible with the Body Brush Head and charge in a charging cradle. The Clarisonic Aria has a real-time battery indicator and comes with a USB-enabled charging cord and waterproof drying stand.

The Clarisonic Mia 2 is a travel-friendly device like the Clarisonic Mia, but offers a second speed and T-Timer functionality.

How do the Clarisonic Mia, Clarisonic Mia 2 and Clarisonic PLUS handles compare in size?

The Clarisonic Mia and Clarisonic Mia 2 are the same size and are smaller and lighter than the Clarisonic Aria, Clarisonic PLUS and Clarisonic PRO handles, making them perfect for travel as well as for use at home.

How long does it take to completely charge the Clarisonic Mia using the pLink charger?

    Approximately 24 hours.

Does the Clarisonic Mia have a battery life indicator like the Clarisonic Aria?

No. The Clarisonic Aria is the only model with a battery life indicator that tells you how much battery life is available as you use it. However, all of our models have a charge indicator LED light (located on the back of the handle for all devices except the Clarisonic Mia 2, where it’s located on the front of the handle) which informs you that the device is being charged when you have it connected to the pLink charger or charging cradle. This charge indicator also pulses and flashes when your device has a low battery and needs to be recharged.

How long is the Clarisonic Mia warranty?

The Clarisonic Mia has a one-year warranty.

Can I change the speed setting on the Clarisonic Mia?

No. The Clarisonic Mia has only one speed.

For the perfect sonic body cleanse, we suggest investing in the Clarisonic PLUS or the Clarisonic PRO, both of which feature a Body Mode speed setting and are compatible with the Body Brush Head.

  • About brush heads/brush head selection

Does Clarisonic offer brush heads for different skin types?

For the most customized experience possible, Clarisonic has specifically developed brush heads for different skin types and skin concerns. Our Normal, Sensitive, and Delicate brush heads vary in bristle length, the longest length providing the plushest feel. This offers different levels of gentleness, while each is equally effective.

Lastly, our Body Brush head has the shortest bristle length and is larger in diameter, allowing for effective body cleansing with the PLUS or PRO model.

What is so different about the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head?

The Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head uses a unique gradation of bristle firmness and dual-action motion to cleanse deep within your pores and uneven areas of the face like around the nose where oil can build up.

Can I use the Deep Pore Cleansing brush head if I have sensitive skin?

Yes, the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head has been tested and is safe for use twice daily. Some people with sensitive skin however, prefer to partner the Deep Pore Cleansing brush head with a Sensitive or Delicate brush head. They use the Deep Pore Cleansing brush head every few days or once a week as their deep cleansing facial.

Which Clarisonic cleansing brush head is right for me?

We recommend starting with our Sensitive brush head, which is perfect for normal to sensitive skin and comes standard on all of our cleansing devices. From there, it is easy to gauge what type of cleanse you are looking for. If you have healthy skin and are looking for a more vigorous cleanse, we suggest the normal brush head. If you have extremely delicate skin and desire the most gentle cleanse, we recommend the delicate brush head.

If you have condition specific concerns, such as large pores or acne, consider the Deep Pore Cleansing brush head or the Acne Cleansing brush head.

What is the difference between the Deep Pore Cleansing brush head and the Acne Cleansing brush head?

The Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head has dual-action bristles that work in conjunction to create a gentle back and forth motion to deeply cleanse the pores. The Acne Cleansing brush head has longer bristles with a unique velvet-like texture on the ends of the bristles and more dense tufts making it gentle enough for use on acne-prone and compromised skin.

How can I be sure my Clarisonic Mia or Mia 2 is charging when using the pLink charger?
